What makes Vero different from US hall pass systems?
Vero is built for Australian schools, with local SIS integrations, a Sydney primary application data region, a public provider and country schedule, and features designed for the Australian school context such as uniform tracking and values-based recognition.
Is Vero really a hall pass system?
Yes — in Australian schools, a "hall pass" is more commonly called an "out-of-class pass." Vero is the digital version. Teachers create a pass in seconds, and authorised staff see the active pass, selected destination and elapsed time until it is ended. Vero does not use GPS or claim to know the student’s physical location.
Why can't we just use our SIS for this?
Your SIS remains the source of truth for enrolment, timetabling, attendance, and formal records. Vero adds a fast, purpose-built layer for live student movement and everyday school workflows. A pass takes two taps and under five seconds to create, so Vero works alongside your SIS rather than replacing it.
How does Vero handle duty of care?
Each teacher-created pass records the approving staff member, selected destination and associated times. This consistent, exportable record can support a school’s wider supervision and review processes, but it does not prove legal compliance by itself. Vero also publishes state-specific information for NSW, Victoria, and Queensland.
Where is student data stored?
Vero’s primary application database is hosted in Sydney, Australia. Supporting hosting, CDN, email, identity and other providers may process information in countries disclosed in our Privacy Policy. Schools can use that policy and Vero’s controls to assess the service against the privacy requirements that apply to them.
How long does it take to get started?
A defined pilot group can generally be live within one week, subject to data readiness, Wonde approval and local allowlisting. No formal teacher-training day is required; an optional walkthrough and product guidance are available. Schools can begin with a one-term paid pilot; if they continue, the pilot fee is credited to the subscription.
