The main differences are workflow scope, staff discretion, Australian operations and how commercial inclusions are presented.
Minga supports student-led, teacher-approved, teacher-led and kiosk workflows. Vero intentionally uses teacher-created passes only. The better fit depends on the level of workflow choice your school wants.
Minga describes automated blocking through No Party Groups. Vero gives the teacher a Smart Separation warning and allows a logged override. Compare the operational outcome, not just the feature name.
Minga publishes bundle and plan structures, then asks schools to request pricing. Vero publishes $3 Core and $4 Connected pricing in AUD, excluding GST, with every current Vero module included.
Minga offers several models; Vero standardises one teacher-led process across the school.
Ownership alone does not determine product quality. Ask the same practical questions of every supplier before making a decision.
Confirm the contracting entity, price basis, renewal terms, inclusions and any plan-dependent features in the supplier's current quote.
Ask how material product, ownership or subprocessor changes are communicated and what options the school has if the service changes.
Verify SIS compatibility, support hours, implementation requirements and whether the workflow matches your school's policies and devices.
Review the current contract, privacy notice, hosting locations, subprocessors, access controls and retention terms against your school's requirements.
Follow one morning pass from the classroom to the front office — and what the data adds up to by the end of term.
Who's out, where they're headed, how long they've been gone — the whole school on one screen. Overdue passes flag themselves, and in a lockdown the same board is your headcount.
Harper asks to go to the bathroom. Tap the name, tap the destination — the pass is live and the timer's running. No student devices, no queue at the door.
Period 5 exits spike every Thursday — flagged automatically for the pastoral team. Conversations backed by evidence, and corridors that feel calmer.
