A sample report shows 6.3 teacher-created passes per day, averaging 14 minutes. Leadership checks the data quality and context before deciding whether a conversation or support pathway is appropriate.
Counsellor visits spike for a Year 8 student
A sample pass record changes from one counsellor destination per fortnight to two per week. The pattern is an invitation to check context, not a diagnosis or conclusion about the student.
Two students with a conflict both out of class
Student A has an active pass when Student B's teacher creates another. Smart Separation shows the staff-defined conflict; the teacher can wait or override with a recorded reason.
Common questions
Does Vero replace our behaviour management system?
No. Vero complements an existing behaviour system with teacher-created pass records, selected destinations and associated times. Those records can provide context for follow-up, but they do not prove misconduct or predict or prevent incidents.
Can we set behaviour thresholds?
Yes. You can configure alerts for students who exceed a certain number of passes per day or week, or whose average duration exceeds a threshold. These alerts help leadership teams intervene before patterns become entrenched.
How does this work with restorative practices?
Authorised staff can use a neutral pass chronology as one input to a restorative conversation, while listening to the student and checking the wider context. Vero does not prescribe the school’s restorative or behaviour process.
Can year coordinators see this data?
Yes. Role-based permissions can be configured so year coordinators see data for their year level, while leadership sees school-wide data. This supports existing pastoral care structures.
What if a student has a medical reason for frequent passes?
Staff can add a note to any pass at the moment they create it, so the context travels with the record — "medical, has a pass arrangement" sits right there when someone reviews the pattern later. Vero deliberately does not hold medical information against a student profile or auto-exempt anyone from reports; that judgement stays with the staff who know the student, reading the record in context.
