Confirm the contracting entity, price basis, renewal terms, inclusions and any plan-dependent features in the supplier's current quote.
SmartPass and Vero both provide live pass visibility without GPS. Compare who creates the pass, how separation rules work, what depends on plan, and how each option fits Australian operations.
Verified against Raptor's current SmartPass page in August 2026. Plan inclusions and pricing can change; confirm them in a current quote.

Vero's case rests on Australian fit, a teacher-created workflow, staff discretion and published AUD pricing—not on diminishing SmartPass's documented capabilities.
Vero publishes AUD pricing, supports automatic syncing through Wonde on Connected, and provides support on Australian business hours. Verify exact integrations and support terms for either option.
SmartPass says Encounter Prevention can block overlapping passes for configured students. Vero warns the teacher, who may wait or override with a logged reason. Schools can choose the level of staff discretion they prefer.
SmartPass publishes Lite, Standard and Pro feature tiers but asks buyers to request a quote. Vero publishes two AUD prices, and every current Vero module is included in both plans.
Both approaches use school-defined student groups. The decision is whether the system or the teacher makes the final call.
Ownership alone does not determine product quality. Ask the same practical questions of every supplier before making a decision.
Confirm the contracting entity, price basis, renewal terms, inclusions and any plan-dependent features in the supplier's current quote.
Ask how material product, ownership or subprocessor changes are communicated and what options the school has if the service changes.
Verify SIS compatibility, support hours, implementation requirements and whether the workflow matches your school's policies and devices.
Review the current contract, privacy notice, hosting locations, subprocessors, access controls and retention terms against your school's requirements.
Follow one morning pass from the classroom to the front office — and what the data adds up to by the end of term.
Who's out, where they're headed, how long they've been gone — the whole school on one screen. Overdue passes flag themselves, and in a lockdown the same board is your headcount.
Harper asks to go to the bathroom. Tap the name, tap the destination — the pass is live and the timer's running. No student devices, no queue at the door.
Period 5 exits spike every Thursday — flagged automatically for the pastoral team. Conversations backed by evidence, and corridors that feel calmer.
